A petticoat or underskirt have been worn by women since the 1500’s. Women wore these to achieve a fashionable shape with their clothing, the idea was to complement the woman’s bust and to make their waist appear smaller. Petticoats were also worn to ensure a woman’s skirt and dress would stay in place and worn with an open gown so that they were seen.
This item is a black ruched petticoat with an elasticated and will fit from a dress size 8 up to dress size 20.
