Posh Victorian Girl - First Class Titanic Passenger Costume
RMS Titanic was made in Belfast and set sail from Southampton in April 1912 and was heading for New York. The boat was filled with many wealthy people as well as emigrants from Britain, Ireland, Scandinavia and other parts of Europe who were heading to North America to pursue a better life for themselves. She carried 2,224 passengers and crew but she only had enough lifeboats for 1,178 people. When Titanic hit the iceberg women and children were called first for the lifeboats.
This Posh Victorian Girl costume would be perfect to represent the wealthy people aboard the Titanic. The dress is a white top with ruffled detail and a navy 'V' shape along the torso and a draped pale blue skirt attached. The collar is navy blue and a large bow at the top of the skirt. The hat is brown on a headband.
