Plague Doctor Mask
The Black Death decimated the population of Europe in the 14th century, killing hundreds of millions. Plague doctors didn’t know what they were dealing with, but the stench of rotting corpses was so great that a special mask had to be designed in order for them to enter affected areas. The extended beak was stuffed with scented materials in a futile attempt to overpower the odour of decay….
This plague doctor’s mask is one of the best designed masks we’ve seen. The leather-look material is very convincing, and it is in a pewter grey shade with rivets along the beak edge and around the eyes. It has an adjustable strap that runs over and around the back of the head, and looks fantastic on. Add a staff to poke your patients from a safe distance and you’ll be as ready as you can be to face the deadly epidemic.
