Mascots are generally defined as being a term for any object, person or animal considered to bring good luck to a group of people. This is most commonly a sports team, but it could be a school, a society or even a brand name. In the case of the latter these mascots can sometimes be used as a spokesperson for the brand too.

Maybe you feel your group is in need of its own mascot or you want to dress up as a well known one for a party. Mascot costumes come in many forms, shapes and sizes. Babies and toddlers would look very cute as a bunny or other animal mascot. Many football teams have adults larking about on the pitch to entertain the crowds dressed as a variety of things. For instance "Wolfie" of the Wolverhampton Wanderers once delighted fans at a game, along with the Three Little Pigs of Bristol when they pantomimed a play fight.

Perhaps one of the most well known mascot outfits is Ronald McDonald, closely followed by Pudsey bear. Depending on your chosen subject a full costume might not be an option, but some well chosen pieces could be a better choice for those needing cheap mascot costumes. An eye patch and pirate hat for a sea themed group perhaps? Any combination of hats, glasses, socks and wigs could help you create your own mascot. Whatever your chosen mascot costume and whatever your reasons for choosing it a good mascot is rarely forgotten.
